An insulation and ventilation advisor will ask you some questions about your house, go into your attic and if needed into your basement and/or crawl space.  Your advisor will take notes and pictures. When the assessment is completed you will be emailed the detailed report, photos with descriptions and a quote. These recommendations will make your home more comfortable and save money on heating and cooling cost. Our goal is to educate home owners so they can live more comfortably, save money while helping the environment and improve their health.

Prairie Eco Tech will examine your attic and basement to make sure that all penetrations are sealed. Having your home properly air sealed is critical to your energy conservation efforts and greatly impacts your utility bills. On average our clients save 20-40% on their combined monthly utility bills by air sealing and insulating their attics. Additionally, air leaks are also a major cause of heat loss, discomfort, moisture problems, poor air quality and greatly reduces dust in the house..

Ventilation & Repairs

Many People are unaware that they have very poor ventilation in there attic. If your attic is left without proper exhaust and intake of air during the hot and humid summer months, the attic temperature can get extremely hot. This heat, when combined with moisture, can lead to damaged shingles, expensive roof repairs and mold & mildew in the attic. During the winter months, warm air from your home can find its way into the attic, causing condensation to form on roof sheathing. This quick thaw and freeze cycle often leads to issues with drainage, roof damage, attic rain, and can even cause damage to your interior walls. Other ventilation issues could be discharge lines from your bathroom fan, kitchen exhaust range hoods, dryer vents and plumbing stacks. In Edmonton and surrounding area houses the fire code states soffit facing neighbors are not allowed to be ventilated. This causes serious ventilation intake issues. Prairie Eco Tech can solve this issue by installing intake vents. Prairie Eco Tech can offer multiple solutions to extract hot or moist attic air. One of the most popular solutions today is our Solar Powered Attic Ventilating Fan. These fans eliminate the need for multiple range vents therefore reducing roof penetrations.
